The FunDoRoo™ program is a structured physical activity curriculum designed and validated to enhance motor skills in youth with and without developmental disabilities. Implemented over a six-month period by parents at home, the program has demonstrated measurable improvements in competencies such as body coordination, strength, and agility.

The accompanying FunDoRoo mobile application comprises three core components: Activities, Daily Plans, and Tools. The Activities section offers visual aids, detailed written descriptions, and demonstration videos for activities categorized into body preparation (warm-up), strengthening (muscle and bone development), and games. These resources provide comprehensive guidance on how to conduct each activity, including necessary sports equipment. The videos illustrate step-by-step instructions and showcase both children with and without disabilities engaging in activities in various settings, including indoor spaces and outdoor environments. Importantly, these demonstrations avoid the use of actors, featuring real youth, their families, and qualified physical activity instructors.

The Daily Plans feature curated lesson structures lasting between 25 to over 45 minutes. With fifty pre-designed plans incorporating activities from the core curriculum, these plans follow a progressive structure in terms of duration and difficulty levels. They specify total estimated time requirements and specify suitable environments—whether small spaces or minimal equipment are needed. Additionally, users can customize existing plans or design new ones with ease to suit individual or group needs.

The Tools section provides instructional videos and tutorials covering application navigation, activity modification, plan creation, safety considerations to prevent injury, and progress tracking via a dedicated calendar. All content within the FunDoRoo mobile application has been submitted for copyright registration to protect intellectual property rights.

Distinct from other apps in this domain, FunDoRoo was built upon the premise that children should find movement enjoyable, engaging, and appropriately challenging. All activities incorporate game-like elements that incentivize participation. Designed initially for joint parent-child activity, the app also offers utility for physical educators, therapists, and those leading physical activity sessions for children. Many games can be adapted in complexity to accommodate varying skill levels or scaled for different group sizes.

While the initial concept centered on family involvement, its versatility supports broader applications in clinical and educational settings.
